"Okay, you're right. My recent project reflects on that period at the end of the 20th Century when I was a known quantity in the world of art and entertainment. First of all, there was what had become for many people all throughout the literate world of contemporary Amerikan Culture, the great digital convergence. This was before you were born, but I can recall it pretty easily now. There was a great boom in low-cost, state-of-the-art technology which essentially connected tens of millions of us who could afford it into one global electronic link. Meanwhile, there was this growing need to interface the strangeness of everyday life with what was essentially the most radical gesture of all, that is, the refusal to go to work.
